Fiber Channel Storage Area Network

  I.                 Design:   [1] In designing an FCSAN system to help achieve the most efficient performance for many applications and servers at the same time, we must focus on the reliability of the system, the performance of the components. and storage capacity of FSAN. Every application, when it is up and running, always needs some amount of resources and some access to the memory provided by FCSAN. Switches need to respond in a timely manner to requests from the server that are forwarded to FCSAN's storage system. The design of a complete FCSAN system should follow some of the following principles: -         The FCSAN must respond as quickly as possible to each application and sever. -         Make sure the FCSAN has enough resources to handle all I/O requests. -         Distributes RAID groups into different storage arrays and stores them on all internal channels and including access paths. -         Regularly check the entire system to detect early failure po

  1.     Fiber Channel Storage Area Network (FC SAN)   [1] FC SAN is a system that will facilitate a group of servers to access storage devices on the network with the use of FC SAN. It will facilitate high-functioning data transmissions among the servers and storage devices. FC SAN is a high-speed network which is built with high speed optic cables and serial copper cables. Data transmission speed is up to 16 GB/s. The data is transmitted without dropping any frames. FC SAN option will provide internal or within limits data movement with high-performance infrastructure   2.       Benefits of FC SAN : [2] ·         Easily share storage and manage information ·         E ach storage device in the SAN is managed by a specific server ·         Fast speed transmission ·         Saving on installation and operating costs ·         high reliability and save data integrity protection ·         Highly scalable, it can be up to 16 million devices in the whole storage system
